Artist Statement:

I'm a Chinese-Irish, London-based artist working across sculpture, video, and installation. My work engages with the body as an encounter—an ecology of forms configured as a whole, that is neither specific to one form nor referential to a particular state of the body. My goal is to uncover networks of information that offer unexpected and self-effacing connections within the everyday — questioning presumed function, the ephemeral body, the overlooked, the discarded, and the uncanny.

The foundation of my practice revolves around everyday materiality, working with elements produced through various casting techniques alongside found, discarded forms—objects that permeate the commonplace yet exist in peripheral spaces. Within the work, I examine the objects’ potential of transmutation and ability to exist beyond function and everyday banality. I look for symbiotic relationships between the components, and seek to create a bound apparatus that form an internal logic.
